| On November 20, 2011, the city of Stamford, CT, helds its annual balloon parade spectacular. It's not quite the Macy's Thanksgiving Parade, but it is certainly exciting in a local setting. And full of color, activity, and balloons to delight the kiddies (and a few adults, too). I was standing at the corner where the parade begins. The balloons come in from the left (Hoyt St., the staging area) and turn right down Summer Street. The handlers had to get them under a pole sticking out in the street before they could let the balloons rise into the air. And so, you'll see several photos of the balloons low to the ground or from behind. Some of the earliest and latest shots were taken in the staging area, either before the parade began or at the very end. The photos begin on this page and continue on four more pages.
